Wings For Life World Run
Event Details
Greetings! I hope this finds you stoked to take on the Wings For Life World Run, Sunday May 7th!!!
Early bib and packet pickup will be available at the Mall - close to the Cheescake Factory, Saturday May 6th from 12-6pm, and again on race morning from 2-330am . Race officials are enforcing a strict ID release policy so unfortunately you'll have to pick up your own bib. Make sure to bring a photo ID!!!!
Important!! You do not have to wear SOAR gear but feel free to represent if you'd like : ) Team rally location will be close to the start area behind the mall next to Chick-fil-a. Look for my truck and SOAR's flag to guide you in! I'll have light snacks and plenty of glow gear to keep things lively! Rally time will be 3am!!! We will be leaving to walk to the start area around 330am. Start location is near the Mall's main entrance between Pottery Barn and Sisley. Race start is 4am.
EVENT SCHEDULE (May 8)
2:30 a.m.: Venue Opens
2:30-3:30 a.m.: Late Registration and Bib Pick-Up
3:00 a.m.: Live Global Webcast Begins!
3:45 a.m.: Runners in to start corral
4:00 a.m.: WORLD RUN BEGINS!
4:30 a.m.: Catcher Car takes off
HOW IT WORKS
Participants will begin running at 4AM and the Catcher Car will take off 30 minutes later, initially going just under 10 MPH. Gradually, the catcher car will increase speeds throughout the race and pursue runners from behind. Once the catcher car passes an individual, that marks their personal finish line.
As the Catcher Car passes runners, it is important they keep to the RIGHT side of the vehicle and proceed to the nearest shuttle for transportation back to the start area.
Shuttles will be available at specifically marked locations on the course immediately after the Catcher Car passes runners and will transport participants back to the start area, where they will collect their finisher's medal and celebrate with friends and family.
A light jacket is recommended because you might be waiting a bit for the shuttle to pick you up.
HYDRATION STATIONS
Hydration stations will be available every 1.5 to 2 miles throughout the course. Hydration stations will include water, water/Red Bull, electrolyte drinks and fruit.
